Naked Ladies Party

Okay ladies, listen up. Maybe some of you others have thought of this, but if you haven't you must try it! Alright, now get your minds out of the gutter. :) My friend Joanna invited me and some of our other girl friends over on Friday night for a naked ladies party. The idea of it is to go through and clean out your closet and you bring any clothes that don't fit you or you are just tired of and everyone dumps them in the middle of the floor at the party. On the count of three you jump in and pick and choose clothes to try on and keep. It is genius! There were about 10 of us and we had a blast...throw together some wine, champagne and free clothes and you've got yourself a rockin' party! :) I made a haul walking away with two pairs of pants, a skirt, a sweater , and about 4 shirts!! Everybody that went walked away with something to add to their wardrobe and the left over stuff just gets brought to the Goodwill. Seriously, why hadn't we thought of this before? It was a wonderful beginning to a friends filled weekend!

Saturday we had a lazy morning full of sleeping in for daddy and a morning nap for mama. After Anna's nap we headed over to our friends Josh and Jodi's new house. They got a screaming deal in a new subdivision that they couldn't pass up. Their home is beautiful and we had a great time watching the NCAA tournament and watching the girls play together. Their little girl Francheska turned 2 last month so she and Anna had a great time together. Over the course of the afternoon more and more people showed up to hang out. We love our friends! Their new house has a neighborhood park right across the street so we took all the kids over to play for a bit...they loved it!

Sunday was another fun day with a little productivity thrown in there. I got a lot of needed housework completed which felt great. I was a little embarrassed with how dirty our house was getting. It always gets picked up, but if you looked closely, it wasn't a pretty picture. :) Sunday evening we were invited to go to dinner at our friend Ryan and Julie's house with another couple. All of us have kids (Anna being the oldest) so we enjoyed a delicious dinner and played with babies. It's amazing to see how fast all of our kids are growing up. To see their babies crawling now is just strange. Where does time go?

Well, we've seen some progress with Anna lately. She certainly still has her turd-burgler moments but they have been fewer and farther between. I do see now that this is a phase and I am certainly not going to waste my time blaming myself or wondering what we could do differently. She is getting very independant and wants to try to do everything herself. It can lead to some frustration, but when she accomplishes something she looks so proud! And she's so lovey with us lately. She gives big strong bear hugs and likes to play with my hair. Its' pretty sweet. :)

She has learned some new things recently which we are very proud of. When we ask her where her belly is she tickles herself in the belly making cute sounds, and when asked, she points to her nose and eyes. And she is very quick to point them out on us all of the time! Anna is also getting VERY good with some more signs. We have a very low tolerance for whining so we taught her the "help" sign and she uses it like a champ. She says help at the same time which is great...it actualy says "elp" or "ep" but at least we know what she means. If she starts whining for something that she can't get to, we say "Anna, ask nicely" and she stops whining and says "elp" and lifts her hands up. Go Anna! She uses "more" constantly, in fact, it can be kind of annoying, because if Dane or I is eating something that she doesn't have, she'll come running over signing "more" "more" and since she asked so nicely, we give her some. We've created a monster. Oh, something else she does is in the evenings before bed we let her watch about 20 min. of Seasame Street...she loves it. She has learned which button turns on the tv on the remote and she will push the On Demand button and then she hands us the remote and says "show" for us to get it to her show. She is one smart cookie!

So, after an update on all of her cuteness, I had to post the below picture to showcase her cuteness. How adorable is that outfit? I got out all of her 2T clothes which are mostly summer stuff that was handed down, but this was an outfit that Sara's mom Julie bought for her at my baby shower. Thanks grandma Julie...we love it!! Daddy even picked out this outfit today all on his own and chose which baby legs to put with it...looks adorable. :) Hope everyone else had a fantastic weekend!
